One/ She second-guesses me. She'll ask me if we have something in the stock room, and I'll either check and reply yes/no or simply say 'no' if it's something I know we haven't got. I know the stock room better than all but perhaps Jeannie and Kaleo, and I do know if we have something, no matter how obscure it may be. But if I say 'no' too quickly, she will say "Will you check again, please?" or "Can you make sure?" Most recently this was about pumpkin face masks. They were featured on Oprah Winfrey and sold out quickly; we haven't had any all week. Yet every day we work she asks two or three times, "Do you we have pumpkin masks, Sam?" and I'll say "No" because we don't have any in the stock room and it didn't come in shipment, and she will always say "Will you please go check?" I don't have to check, I know we don't have it.
Two/ She's been riding my ass because I bought a body butter at The Body Shop. "Why are you buying from competition? Ours is better! I don't like The Body SHop, they're our rivals" blah blah blah. It's annoying because
a/ what I do with my money is my business
b/ I already have the Bath & Body Works body butter and it is NOT better
c/ I have freaky mutant skin and what works for Kitty does not work for me. Bath & Body Works products work for her; great, fine. They don't work on me. Pah.
d/ The Body Shop is a company that I'd rather work for, frankly. Their products seem more natural, the staff is friendly, and the company philosophy is closer to my personal business philosophy than Limited, Inc.
e/ If it's so terrible to shop at The Body Shop, why is it okay for her to shop at Bare Escentuals? They're a Bath & Body store too! Sure, they sell make-up and we don't, but so does The Body Shop.
f/ And if we shouldn't shop at competition, shouldn't that apply to all facets of our lives? Express is part of Limited, Inc, our lovely corporation parent, so we shouldn't shop at any other clothing stores because it hurts the company! No Yankee Candle Company for us! We should stick purely to White Barn & Candle Co.!
My eyes have rolled to the other side of the state by now.
It's actually not that big of a deal...it just annoys me when she acts like such a tool of the company. Where's the indepedent thinking?
I was going to get her a gift set from LUSH, but I don't think she'll like it so I'll get her something else for Christmas. Hrmph.
