Done. Political clothing.

Whew.
Thank goodness my final is turned in and over with.
My final theme ended up being "Conflict." The clothing in the line (I swear I'll scan it in later) switched between light, flowing, airy "hippie" pieces and sharp-as-a-razor, rigid, skintight silouhettes.

When I presented it to my class today, I prefaced the designs with "When I started working on this Spring 2005 line, I tried to see where our country would be. As you know, we have an election coming up next month, and right now the two candidates are dead even. No matter who wins, half the country will be unsatisfied with the results. In our country there will be uncertainty and conflict, and my designs reflect this future. There are simple pieces and gaudy extremes. There are garments that flow and garments that angle sharply." Then I went on to describe each piece, but that's boring to hear without a visual aid.
When I was done my teacher said, "That was really well done. See how some of the pieces are conservative and structured, like Republicans, and others are looser and more liberating, like Democrats. Yet the pieces all come together and look well together. It's very symbolic of this country's political structure."
Uh...right. That's totally what I meant!
