Short bytes.
So I got a 95 on the homework assignment I was freaking out about yesterday. Excellent! I would love to go nuts and have a little shopping spree to celebrate, but I must resist!

Besides, I have a handbag to design for Elliott Lucca. I've never tried to design any accessories before, so I figured it'd be a fun little challenge to work on this week before .

Also, I mustn't forget to request next Tuesday off when I go to work, as I can't be messing around at Bath & Body Works when I am supposed to be taking a midterm.

Ooo designing handbags... How do you like being a fashion major?

I love it. :) I can't think of any other major I'd enjoy half as much, except possibly sequencial art. I like the creative freedom that being a designer provides; I'm not too hip of clothing construction but it's necesary so I'm trying to improve it.

You're probably the wrong person to ask this, but just in case, what exactly is fashion merchandising?? None of the Google searches have pulled up anything definite.

You're right, I'm not quite sure what it is. If I were to fathom a guess, I would imagine it's got to do with marketing; arranging visual displays and store layouts, that sort of thing? I know it's a major at FIT, here's the info I pulled up there:

What? Only ten units and a gift certificate? Sound's like a rip off. The winning design should at least get a small perecentage of the gross sales.

However, good way to get your name out there and such.

(And having a bag you designed aint that bad.)

I'm now wondering if that last post came off kinda dicky.

Yeah, a bit.
It's just a silly thing for fun; it's not a serious venture; besides, I get $100 gift certificate just for entering, assuming I'm one of the first 100 contestants.

Funny, I forgot to log in.
Anyway, when you figure the average price of their bags is in the $100-$150 range, that's $1000+ dollars of free merchandise plus the $500 certificate, so you're getting $1500 worth of stuff for a doodle. Not bad, man.
