bath & body works - aquatanica spa

Horrible night at B&BW

Brain dead.

Last night Bath & Body Works had a floorset; the midweek ones are always pretty awful because we can't start until the mall closes and everyone's tired from school or other jobs. This one was especially bad because three of our 'usual' veterans were gone on vacation or had called out, and Deborah, our manager, called out at the last minute. It was her last day working, so I didn't get a real chance to have a real good-bye. Darn.

We started working at about 9 (many people came in at 7 or 8, but it was hard to do anything while folks were selling.) Customer service really dies hard. I was cleaning one of the display tables at the front of the store, dressed in my grubbiest clothes, and I greeted every person that came in the store. I couldn't happen. It was like a gag reflex. I felt guilty if I didn't, even though my job was not to sell. Once I'd started talking, I'd naturally have to talk about the sales and the fact that today was the last day for the 5 for $15 hand soaps! I would think to myself, 'Why am I selling?' but then I would talk about the virtues of having anti-bacterial hand gel in my purse.
Is this a sign that I want to go back to Bath & Body Works?
I don't think I have quite that much go-to at Lush right now.

Our floorset team seemed to lack a sense of urgency, and we were terribly disorganized. That definitely contributed to the long work schedule. Danyelle was feeling generous and bought me a Mocha Frappacino; about an hour later Seanie came in with a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I had coffee to keep my going all night long.
Good thing, because we did not leave the store until five in the morning!
I was a zombie for this morning's conference call because I'd only had 2 1/2 hours of sleep.
