kid - of a shyness that is criminally vu

Almost done with the sick, so life returns to normal.

Going back to work was a little harder than I thought it would be.

My job is mostly just sitting around behind a desk, so it isn't physically demanding.  The challenge came from the fact that it's an evening shift (4pm-9pm) and by the time I was halfway through, I was practically nodding off.  So sleepy.  I'm not sure if that was the drugs, the fact that I had to sit upright, or a combination of the two.

But I made it through with no ill effects.  Got home safely.

I'm glad I didn't take the evening off.  As much as I've enjoyed the mindless marathon of television, I really needed to go out and be productive - even if productive meant only that I sat like a frog on a log for a few hours so that money could trickle into my checking account.

Two more days of antibiotic pills left.  Six more days of steroids.  I can't wait to be done with all this medicine so that I can finally think straight and be a little more coherent in my communications, but I am so grateful that modern medicine exists.  I can't imagine dealing with this throat problem a hundred years ago.  Would my throat have kept swelling and swelling 'til I really couldn't eat or drink at all?  Would it have killed me?  How morbid.
