Flea Markets San Jose style
Waking up at the crack of dawn every morning isn't fun at all! Sometimes I wish I'd never agreed to this Temporary Sales Leader thing. But I love me the extra dollar an hour, and it is nice to be sure that I've got a set number of hours every week.

On the one hand, working so early in the morning is nice because it leaves the rest of my day open to get things done. But on the other hand, I'm so wiped out at the end of the day I can't manage to wrap my mind around doing anything beyond slugging out in the tub or in front of the computer. I mean, look how infrequently I write! I'm just too sluggish to get words out of my head and onto the screen.

Today was nice tho' - I only had a meeting in the morning. Seanie and I spent the mid-day wandering around the flea market downtown - I didn't buy anything, but there were some sari fabric vendors that I may have to go back and check out again - they had some neat fabrics that would be awesome to work with. There were tons of cheap clothing vendors; it reminded me of Camden market, without the quality. At Camden the designers really took pride in their one-off creations, but the vendors here just sell the same Charlotte Russe-stylings that were mostly likely made by starving children in China. It's a shame, really. Lots of 'discount' stereos, CDs and video games, but I've lately become leery of purchasing these items at flea markets, since I know many professional thieving rings dispose of their ill-gotten merchandise by unloading it at flea markets.
