During Leadership today I had nothing to do, so I went to Journalism to help them out. I edited a page of copy for the Entertainment page, and then Spaay dragged me off to find Jesse the Janitor. (For some reason, whenever I go to help Journalism I end up walking off with Spaay somewhere. I guess I'm the only person stupid enough to accompany him.)
Anyway, he was griping about Journalism, Mrs. Phillips, anything he could get his teeth on. I wanted a change of subject, but couldn't think of anything to say. So I asked him:

"Spaay, why are you such a freak this year? Last year you were almost normal." Now, normal people would at least look at you funny if you ask a question like that, out of the blue. Spaay doesn't even blink.

He replied, "I've had a lot to deal with this year."

Me: "It's junior year. A lot of people had a lot to deal with."

Spaay: "I deal with it differently."

And you know what? That's okay.
