It's been pretty hectic at Bath & Body Works the past two/three days - because of Mother's Day. Body products in classic scents like Sweet Pea and Cucumber Melon are what men always seem to run to when their wives haven't told them to get something specific. (Excluding my father. He gets my mother things like toilets, although for this Mother's Day he outdid himself with a $500 gift certificate to the spa. Nice!) It's been so, so busy - many men you can just sort've point 'n' click - point them to the giftset with the fragrance they asked for and they'll 'click!' pick it up and hurry over to the registers. Others, however, don't know what to get so you have to gently walk them through every step. (What sort of scents does she like? How old is she? What does she do? What price range are you aiming for? Do you know if she uses any of our products? etc.)
But this has been an easy week. We make our sales goal with minimal effort and blow the stretch plan out of the water. Last I checked we were something like 5K over for the week - very nice!
