Sing sing sing

Today's church service was very different from usual - we sang! Not just one or two hymns like every other Sunday - the entire church service was praising God through song. No sermon. Just song after song after song. The choir didn't even wear their robes!

Seanie didn't much care for it - he never sings in church, and he looked rather put-out for the first fifteen minutes as he realized what was going on. It made me miss Betsy a bit - she would've had fun with it! But she's hopefully having a blast in Ireland right about now, lucky girl.

It looks like Tom Rose will be leading an interesting class starting September 17th. It's a study of the Gospel of Mary, based on the book The Gospel of Mary of Magdala: Jesus and the First Woman Apostle by Karen L. King. I have been feeling very curious about the Gnostic gospels lately (A fact brought about by all the Da Vinci Code fuss, I admit.) so I am very seriously considering taking the class.

School starts tomorrow. It is the most uncertain semester I've ever had - I've never tried to crash a class before, can you believe it? - but it also looks like it could be the most fun.
