Clutter & Junk

I was reading Sierra magazine this afternoon when I came across an article about the compact, a group of individuals in the San Francisco area who made a pledge to go one year "trying to counteract the negative global environmental and socioeconomic impacts of disposable consumer culture." Doesn't that sound neat, and terribly idealistic?

I have been trying to do something similar, albeit not quite so lofty. Since I've traditionally always spent a large portion of my budget on clothing I have been trying to go one year without purchasing any garments. Since it's now September I've made it past eight months - only four to go!

Anyway, I'm just trying to gut my room of junk and clutter and this is the latest update.
