On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does J like me?
Hooray! Daddy, Seanie and I are off to Yosemite this weekend.

Awkward moment at work today. Customer came in today and was looking at the deodorants and somehow C28/Not of This World. Anna commented that it was a "Christian Hot Topic" (which is accurate enough, I've used the same description before) and the customer made an 'ick' face saying "I wouldn't think those sort of people would have a following here. How weird." They continued to badmouth the idea behind the store for a minute or two, while I stood there swirling the Ichthys around my neck. I didn't speak up, but now I wish I did. Even something little like "They have really cute clothes there, you should check it out!" would have been fine. But I was surprised by my co-workers and didn't say anything.

Ah well. Maybe next time.

I'm usually pretty verbal about being Christian, but that's because "most" people seem to think that a "Christian" is a humourless, boring person with no mind of their own or a bigot who is condemning everyone else to hell.

Go with how it feels for you. When it's right to tell someone, you will. Retail in general isn't always the most welcoming of places when it comes to that.

One of my favourite tshirts came from an Orthodox bookstore and it says "Dead to the World" and has a nice graphic.

Well, one of the things with me is that my co-workers *know* I'm Christian as it's come up several times in conversations before. So either they already group me into one of those two categories, they were 'talking it up' because it's a customer, or they do feel that way and they think I'm an exception to prove the rule. *shrug* That made me less inclined to speak up yesterday.

All that, and its pretty obvious to anybody who sees the fish around your neck - and if they can't recognize that as a Christian symbol, they probably don't have any business making opinions about something they remain ignorant of.

What did they mean by "Those" people? Chrsitans? Not having a "following here?" There are really a lot of churches in San Jose. In fact, there are at least four or five within a mile of your neighborhood of various christian denomonations.
I never really noticed them until I started going to church with you, but it really shoulden't be that big of a surprise.

K00kaburra here bought me one like that - It's orange and out of production. It has a graphic of a hearse on it with "The world is my widow" hung like a "Just married" sign on the back. It's also neat because it's an "inside out" shirt, so the seams are on the outside.
