GI Joe sucked. But you knew that.
Sunday Night
Proving once again that I am not always capable of making wise decisions, Melissa and I went to see G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra . It was stupid. I mean, the decision to go was fine. Melissa had free movie tickets, and nothing else at the theatres was appropriate. The Time Traveler's Wife was sad, which we weren't in the mood for. I don't actually remember what else was playing. But the movie was pretty bad. Granted, I think I saw a grand total of 3 or 4 episodes of the cartoon growing up, so I may have missed nods to fandom and the like, but eh. The plot was so disconnected and random as the actors hurried from one explosion to the next. I mean, I know that's expected from summer action flicks but they could at least try to work some character development into it. It was less than two hours, but it felt really, really long.

PS - I hate comic sidekicks. I really, really do.

PPS - I could have sworn that the Baroness wore an eyepatch, but the Internet tells me I am wrong. Dang. She should wear an eyepatch.

...was the action any good? I know it's considered a horrible movie but I still want to see it. I loved the cartoon as a kid and now I love Channing Tatum, so...

It' so-so. Most of the really intense moments in GI Joe were CGI, which just doesn't seem as exciting to me as 'real' stunts, where the actor/stuntman is actually jumping out of a physical helicopter as an actual building gets blown up. But most movies are trending toward CGI anyway these days.
