Do I have to do this all over again? Didn't I do it right the first time?

Dear Mr. Spanish Tutor,
When you originally suggested that you could tutor me in Spanish, I thought it was a great idea. We'd do some refresher stuff, I'd be ready for the second semester of Spanish, and school would be just a little easier. I mean, you seem to be an old retired guy with not quite enough to do, since you once spent nearly an hour outlining every grammatical flaw in the RHA newsletter after we'd clearly established that I had nothing whatsoever to do with the newsletter production and really didn't care about the quality of its contents.

It hasn't worked out that way. I don't know why it didn't occur to me that you'd pick at my speech just as enthusiastically as you picked at the general manager's monthly report, but man I am sick of it. I know my pronunciation of Spanish words - especially long ones - is slow and often inaccurate, with the emphasis on the wrong syllable...but man! Could you at least let me finish the sentence I'm trying to read before jumping in with your corrections? I also don't mind repeating a word if I say it incorrectly, but if I've repeated it ten times and it's clear I can't tell what I'm doing wrong, can we just move on? By the time I finally get it right, I'm just making noises, and I'm not going to be able to replicate it later.
Also, dude, you're an old man with bad hearing. You know it, you admit it. Half the time I am saying the word or phrase correctly, but you can't hear me. I have to hisssss like a sssssssnake for you to hear the 's' at the end of words! It's ridiculous.

I mean, I dread our tutoring meetings. They make me flustered and nervous, and by the time they're over I just want to scream.

Also, I know you used to teach Spanish and I respect that. I really do. But you're not my teacher now, so I want to study the stuff my teacher's going to put on the test. You and I both agree this is a good strategy. So why do you keep veering off into random directions? Like today, I wanted to go over the preterite form of IR verbs, but you started trying to teach me about 'gerund' or -ando verbs or something. I don't even remember, I was just confused because it had NOTHING to do with what I'm learning.

So I'm too cowardly to call it quits because
A/ It might hurt your feelings
B/ Much as I dislike it, this is the only oral practice I get outside my classroom

But man! This sucks.

PS - Entry title's actually from a Monkees song, "Long Title: Do I Have to Do This All Over Again?" It's one of those little ear worms that starts belting when I get annoyed with repetition.
