RHA: I'm actually doing work today!

My boss asked me to come in today and stuff envelopes for RHA's quarterly statements. I figured it would only take a few hours, so I sauntered in at three with two audio books (Anansi Boys and Zombies vs. Unicorns) and started folding. And folding. And folding. Stuffing the folded statements and forms into envelopes. Stamping. Over and over again.

It took 'til ten-thirty to finish all those envelopes. I couldn't believe it. When I did the summer statements, it didn't take that long. It was four, maybe five hours? What made this batch of statements drag on and on and on?

When I started to really think about it, I realized that last time I had help. Chris had come in and folded with me. (She also spent the entire time blabbing about her love life, which I thought was really odd since we'd only just met.) The time before that, I came in earlier in the day so the Boss helped for a while. Funny, the difference a second person makes.

On the plus side, I've finished Anansi Boys and made serious progress on Zombies vs. Unicorns, and my paycheck will be bigger than usual. All's well that ends well?
