I guess I'm pretty average in terms of ability to fall asleep. I can't just lie down and be out like a light (although both my brother and Seanie seem to have this skill) but 360 nights out of the year, I'm not tossing and turning for hours and hours, either.
The last few times I've had an attack of insomnia - the most recent one was about a week ago - i just turned into an all-nighter. I couldn't sleep, so I didn't. I finished the book I was reading (a bad teen romance about werewolves) and watched an entire disk of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes. (First season. Zuko, you are such a tool.) About once an hour or so, I'd think "I should just chemical it up and take a sleeping pill" but then I'd be super out of it the next day. As the night wore on, this turned into an hourly, "Man, I should have just taken the stupid pill."
So yeah. When I can't sleep, I read or watch TV until I think I'm gonna drift off. I probably need a new strategy, as that doesn't seem to be working so well.
