I spent most of the morning and afternoon puttering around the house. I read a little. I finished an audio book I'd been working on, The Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman. Did some laundry. Updated some BookCrossing journals. Finished off a package of matcha. Wrapped several Christmas presents.
In the afternoon, I went Christmas shopping with Seanie and his mother. We didn't go anywhere too exciting - just Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Bye Bye Baby - but we managed to pick up some stocking stuffers.
Dinner was pizza at Amato, a local pizzeria. Even though it's been in walking distance of my house for as long as I can remember, tonight was the first time I actually ordered something at the restaurant. Hawaiian pizza, potato skin appetizers, and a coffee-toffee shake. (I guess it would have been more traditional to get a pitcher of beer, eh?)
Did I mention that I bought the entire series of Ranma 1/2 recently? Seven seasons, 160 episodes. Some poor guy had to put his entire anime and manga collection up on eBay back in November - according to him, his girlfriend made him do it - and so I scored his Ranma DVDs for $182.50. Pretty good deal, I thought, since each box set tends to retail between $30-$50.
He also had the entire Urusei Yatsura series, but I was outbid on that one. Too bad. (Then again, I'm not sure I could have made it through nearly 200 episodes of that series. No matter how wacky Ranma gets, it has nothing on UY.) Seanie and I are working out way through the series, ever so slowly. Tonight we watched the third disc of the first season. Ryoga uses his cute piglet form to sneak into girls' locker rooms and Akane's bed, Ranma fights Kodachi in a martial arts gymnastics battle, and Dr. Tofu's mother tries to find him a bride. Completely silly.
Activities for tomorrow:
- Baking pies with Jeannie
- Working on Seanie's Christmas sock
- Clean the bathroom?
