Students shouldn't teach students!

Most of my classes are going well - now that I've finally gotten into all of them - but my Spanish class makes me nervous. The instructor is a master's student who has never taught before...never good! He only speaks to us in Spanish, which would be OK if he used vocabulary we've encountered in our textbook. But he talks about complex things, like the fact that the website we use to turn in our homework has gone down but that doesn't mean we won't be using the site in the future, so we need to be sure to register by a certain date...we haven't learned any technology-related vocabulary in previous classes! He also speaks very quickly and very quietly. I have no idea what he's saying half the time.

I think it's total crap that we students have to pay full price for a teacher who isn't a 'real' professor. This GSI (Graduate Student Instructor) may be a brilliant individual, but that doesn't mean he has any idea how transfer his knowledge to other people. When it became clear last class that we students had no idea what he was talking about, he just stared at us for two whole minutes before asking if he should repeat himself in English. Duh.
