Writer's Block: Live action hero
Which is your favorite or least favorite comic book-turned-movie?

I thought that the second and third X-Men movies were really disappointing.  I mean, I love the X-Men.  I read the comics as a kid and grew up watching the tv cartoon.  The first X-Men movie was OK; not really great, not terrible.  Just decidedly average.  Halle Berry was a disappointing Storm; Hugh Jackman was an awesome Wolverine.  But from there, the movies got progressively worse and worse.

X 2?  Utterly forgettable.  I can barely remember anything about it, so many years later, other than the sense of disappointment I felt after watching it.

X-Men: The Last Stand?  The best part is the beginning, when Cyclops is moping by the lake and thinks he sees Jean Grey...and Phoenix kills him.  Seriously.  That was awesome, because Cyclops is a boring git.  But it's all downhill from there...too many characters, too many subplots, not nearly enough entertainment.

X-Men: Hugh Jackman's AWESOME so let's give him his own movie WOLVERINE!!!?  Ok.  I liked that one.  Because it's Wolverine.  It's not a good movie, but it's Hugh Jackman so I was good.

X-Men: First Class?  Eh.  Meh.  The special effects in that one were AWFUL.

Beh, we disagree on so many points here! XD Well, maybe not so much the points, but what we feel about the movies.

You're the first X-Men fan and the second person I know (the other my bf) to not like #2! Among the online community (and me), it was the best of the first 3. The online community hates #3, though, and my bf and I liked it enough (although I understand its weaknesses.)

I like Wolverine okay, but not much--it's my least favorite in the franchise. And I love X-Men: First Class sooooooo much. Special effects may not be awesome (yuck to the Beast costume!), but I loved the story and music and most of the acting (minus White Queen).

I like that we're polar opposites, it's just proof that there's something for everyone :) My friend Jeans loved X-Men: First Class, too (or at least, she loved Magneto) but I don't know how she felt about X2 and X3.

I think we agree on #1 being good but not great! (And Halle Berry being an awful Storm.) Oh, and Cyclops... Well, I liked him better in the movies, but I always hated him in the cartoons! So yeah, in a way, it was nice to see him gone so early in #3. XD

I liked X2 ok because there were some awesome Wolverine fight sequences, but other than that I don't remember too much of it. X3 was truly disappointing because I love Phoenix and thought they would make a really cool movie about her. They didn't.

First Class was great! Kevin Bacon, womanizing Prof X, and a Hugh Jackman cameo - how could I not love it?
