- George Eliot
This is what I keep telling myself as I work on my paper on City Hall. No matter how much this sucks, or how strongly I dislike the subject, completing this paper is essential to achieving my ultimate goal of leaving fingerprints in all the major museums of the world. If I don't finish the paper, I don't pass the class; no class, no BA; no BA, no grad school; no grad school, very unlikely that I'll make the connections I need to avoid being one of those "art history failures" that people always talk about.
So work hard, study, do your duty*!
* Does anyone remember a childhood rhyme that goes something like, "American soldiers, do your duty, here comes Miss American Beauty"? I'm thinking it was some sort of jump rope chant, but am I remembering something that actually existed?
