Nothing like a hospital visit before the semester begins...

I had to go to the hospital today and get a chest x-ray. I've had this persistent cough for about a month now, and after trying an inhaler over the weekend it still hasn't lessened or gone away. My doctor had recommended the x-rays last week, but said I could try the inhaler medication over the weekend to see if it would help the symptoms. It hasn't, so hopefully the x-rays will reveal if anything major has gone wrong. She said that most likely a virus had just settled in, but since this isn't the first time I've had this problem they want to check and make sure.

Aw, I'm sorry! This seems like it would really suck. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks :) I'm sure it's no big deal, it's just frustrating that I'm still coughing after nearly a month!

i know this is late, but if you're still using an inhaler....make sure you rinse your mouth out after use every time! some inhalers can cause thrush to develop.
hope you're feeling better, though.

Also a late response, but curiously the doctor did not mention this possibility when she assigned the drug. She did say I should rinse after every use, but neglected to mention why. Now I know!
