Today I made a glass pumpkin!
Well, sorta. By "sorta" I mean not really. Let me explain. I signed up for a 'Glass Pumpkin Experience' at BAGI with Jeannie. However, it was not a class - at least, not the kind that we expected. When we arrived at the studio, we were told to pick out the colors we wanted for our pumpkin and its stem - and then we were invited to sit down while one of the glass instructors/resident artists actually made the pumpkin. It was a little disappointing.
Luckily, the guy making the pumpkins was the instructor from our first glass-blowing class, so we had a lot of fun talking to him. He isn't teaching at BAGI too often anymore, which is a pity - he's a fun teacher. But he did just about everything for the pumpkin creation, and the lack of a hands-on experience was a bit of a bummer.
However, this means that soon I shall have a green pumpkin to display every autumn. Why green? Well, why not?
