Today I went to the Dickens Fair with Seanie, Kenny and our friend Betsy. It was a shorter trip than usual, because I got a late start and Betsy had to come back to town early for a family event, but we still managed to do quite a bit. We ate delicious meat pies and watched singers perform on wooden stages. We wandered in and out of shops that carried 19th century clothing, jewelry, ceramics and other artisanal goods. The last thing we did before we left was watch a group of opera singers perform hits from Gilbert and Sullivan's oeuvre (with a few songs from The Merry Widow thrown in for good measure).
