2013 New Year's Resolutions: May Update

Eliminate the backlog of “to be posted” blog entries.
Down from 155 to 151.
Not good, but at least it didn't go up again.


Eliminate my backlog of books for review.
Down from 44 to 38.
The good news that, for once, I have a "front log" of posts - right now I'm four entries ahead of the current date, which is awesome.  I hope to get that up to two weeks' worth of updates by mid-month, because I'll be traveling during the second half of May and it would be awesome to have enough posts to run uninterrupted while I'm gone.  But we'll see.


Covert my old bedroom at my parents' into a studio.
No progress to report.

Find a “for reals” job.
No progress to report.  I'm not seeing a lot in my field, and the positions I do find often can't be justified - like, last week I saw an admin position at a Chinese American Museum, which would be an awesome place to work - but I can't make Seanie relocate to one of the most expensive cities in the country so that I can take a $10 an hour job.  That just wouldn't be fair.


Draw or create something every day. Draw or create something at least weekly.
I've been trying to get back into acrylics, but it's been such a pain because the paint dries so quickly in this heat!  I need to get my outdoor studio set up in the shed behind the house so that I can go back to oils.

Exercise 60 minutes a week; by the end of year expand this to 210 minutes a week.
Remember how I was gonna start taking 2-3 yoga classes a week?
I should really get back on that...

Cook at least three meals a week.
It's a pity that heating up Bertolli's frozen dinners doesn't count.

Travel somewhere new – preferably overseas.

Ceramics.  De Anza will be offering a beginning ceramics course during the summer session; if there's room, I'll take it!
