2013 New Year's Resolutions: (Late) August Update

Eliminate the backlog of “to be posted” blog entries.
Down from 181 to 175.
Well, at least it's going down again..


Eliminate my backlog of books for review.
Down from 36 to 34.
Very very slow progress here, too.


Covert my old bedroom at my parents' into a studio.
Obviously, not a project I'm concerned with while I'm out in Utah.


Find a “for reals” job.
Done, thanks to this internship.



Draw or create something every day. Draw or create something at least weekly.
My intention is to paint some landscapes while I'm out here.  I haven't really gotten around to it yet, but it is GOING TO HAPPEN. (I'm psyching myself into it.)


Exercise 60 minutes a week; by the end of year expand this to 210 minutes a week.
Well, I go hiking at least once during my days off, and they're always over an hour so I guess I'm currently doing this.  Of course, by now I should be doing a lot more!


Cook at least three meals a week.
Well, I can't afford to eat out more than once a week (and frankly, I can't even afford that) so I've actually been cooking on an almost daily basis.  It's probably a bit early to call this one "done", but if I'm still managing this by the end of September it'll count.

Travel somewhere new – preferably overseas.
Chicago and Alaska and Utah.


Do one thing completely new.
Oil painting.


Do something else completely new.
Glassblowing.


Do something else completely new.
Living by myself without roommates or parents or even a husband.


That last one is rather sad.
