2013 New Year's Resolutions: October Update
2013 New Year's Resolutions: October Update

Eliminate the backlog of “to be posted” blog entries.
Down from 156 to 132.
Yay!

Eliminate my backlog of books for review.
Up from 30 to...well, I don't want to count, but basically I haven't updated anything since the beginning of September so it doesn't look good.  I've been reading, I just can't seem to buckle down and write the reviews up!

Covert my old bedroom at my parents' into a studio.
Obviously, I haven't done anything with this while in Utah, but I'm just going to declare it "done" because I have pretty much got the room set up as an art studio.

Find a “for reals” job.
Internship.
I have my first professional museum conference this week, so I'll have to network like heck and hopefully I'll turn up some job leads in the process.

Draw or create something every day. Draw or create something at least weekly.
Yeah...I have not been doing this.  I've been in and out of town a lot, and on my days off I tend to veg and read instead of paint.  I guess that's not too terribly different from life in San Jose, eh?

Exercise 60 minutes a week; by the end of year expand this to 210 minutes a week.
It's been raining a lot so I haven't been hiking much.  Ouch.

Cook at least three meals a week.
Unless I'm out of town, I cook my own food every night.  Is it good?  Eh...probably not so much.  Lots of sandwiches, egg dishes, some baking.   The next few weeks will probably be dreadful - I don't want to buy more ingredients than I can cook, so towards the end of my stay in Boulder I'll be cobbling together whatever scraps are still available to cook.

Travel somewhere new – preferably overseas.
Chicago and Alaska and Utah.
Done.

Do one thing completely new.
Oil painting.

Do something else completely new.
Glassblowing.

Do something else completely new.
Living on my own without family or roommates.

Do something else completely new.
Western Museum Association conference!!!
Seriously, this'll mark my debut as a "Museum Professional" and that is just terribly exciting.

Do something else completely new.
I wonder if my roadtrips count as something new?  I've never driven for hours and hours on my own before, and I've gone all sorts of cool places.  Hmm...
