Yosemite Rim Fire
I just can't tear my eyes away from news coverage of the Yosemite Rim fire.

(For those who haven't been as captivated as I have, there is a wildfire that began burning out of control in the Stanislaus National Forest, near the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. It crossed into the Yosemite back country and closed one of the entrances to the park.)

I mean, I'm not in California right now, and it's not as if I had any plans to visit the park anytime in the next few months. Heck, the areas of the park I like to visit - Wawona, Yosemite Valley, and Tuolomne Meadows - aren't directly affected by the flames. But Yosemite is a magical place to me. It's where my parents took me when I was a kid; it's the park where I got married. I want other people to be able to visit the park and see the sights that I love so much.

So I worry, and find myself constantly checking news sites for any updates on containment.
