Another care package from my mother arrived while I was in Cedar City, which is awesome! Perhaps a little late - I'll be going home at the end of the month, so I might not even have time to finish everything in the box - but it was so sweet of her to send me snacks and pasta and other tasty things.
Some of the items are a bit of a family joke. She included Jelly Belly "Peas and Carrots" candy not because she thinks I'd like the flavor, but because she's certain it's the only vegetables I'll eat. (She's not wrong.) The microwavable macaroni and cheese from Trader Joe's was sent because she firmly believes that Kraft dinners are the only thing I know how to cook. But the other foods are things she knows I love - Japanese snacks, Trader Joe's chocolate chip cookies, and tortellini. The Ghiradelli Chocolate Bar must have been a souvenir from one of the art exhibits I missed at the Legion - Mom loves the Impressionists so she wouldn't have missed it.
Man, this box makes me miss home, which makes me all the happier that I will soon be back in California!
