Sometimes, it's hard to be serious in life drawing.

About a week ago we had a very serious male model in life drawing.  He posed with a quiet dignity, even though our teacher put him in some seriously weird situations - like having him sit in front of a sunflower-printed tablecloth that was pinned to the wall next to a stern-looking ceramic goose.  I tried to draw him properly, but his large belly and red bandana across his brow begged for something looser and sillier.  So when our professor told us to do an exaggerated portrait, I was so happy.  This was the result:



I think that this will make a great painting.  Call me crazy, but I think it's one of the most entertaining things I've drawn all quarter long.
