Ipsy: March 2015

A floral fantasy, eh? Do you think there will be a big smelly perfume with lilies or gardenias or roses? That's what immediately jumps to mind. Maybe a bright pink blush or a colorful nail polish will be included. Almost certainly, the bag will have a floral print on it. That seems to happen every year around this time.

Side note: I don't know why the postcards always photograph so blurry.  Must be something about my camera, it's getting pretty old and beat up now.

Yup, that is a bright blue floral bag.  It's not bad.  I think my mom actually has a Hawaiian shirt with a very similar print on it.  Maybe I'll give the bag to her!

ST. IVES Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub (not pictured):  I gave this scrub to Kero before I took the pictures.  It's a drugstore brand that I tried several times in high school, and I was never very impressed with it, so I would have traded it away anyway.  Now I can be sure it went to a good home.  Travel size. $1.50

PUR-LISSE BEAUTY Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover: This looks like a good, useful product.  I've heard good things about the Pur-Lisse brand but I've never had a chance to try it, and I can always use another facial cleanser.  Good choice, ipsy! Travel size. $6.50

NYX COSMETICS Butter Lipstick in "Hunk": Ick, strike out on the color!  Last time I had a Nyx lipstick, it was a peachy nude, and I told the Ipsy algorithm that I hated the color.  I guess they went to the opposite end of the spectrum and sent this purple color.  Waaaay too dark for me.  I'm a red and pink sort of girl!  Full size. $6.00

EVELYN IONA COSMETICS Concealer in "Flawless": I always feel a bit wary of concealers, because the ones I've tried tend to do a very poor job of concealing the patches of psoriasis on my face.  Instead, they tend to highlight the irregularity of the skin, making me extra sad.  But I'll give this a shot.  In the pot, the concealer looks pretty close to my skin tone, but of course what I see in a jar doesn't always match when it's applied.  We'll see.  Cool thing about the company: $1 from each concealer sale goes to YWCA Canada.  Sample size. $9.37

MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow in "Fifty Shades": As the name suggests, this is a smoky gray with some shimmer in it.  I like it.  I don't know how often I'll use it, since I usually don't go very dark with my eyeshadow unless I've got contacts in, but it's a pretty shade.  Full size. $22.50

None of the makeup samples in today's bag really strikes me as floral.  There wasn't even a flower-like name for one of the colored products!  Oh well.  We can't always be completely on theme.
