Answer for question 4501.

Do you have a favorite picture hanging in your home or that you use as your background on your computer/device? Why do you like it so much?
Right now the background on my Chromebook is a screenshot of the title character from Paul Berry's animated short "The Sandman", a gorgeous bit of stop-motion animation from the early 1990s.

I picked the background last year after discovering the film in an animation history class. I love the character design! The Sandman's face is shaped like the crescent moon, his body is covered with blue and white feathers, and he moves like some sort of horrible stork. He never says a word, but manages to ooze menace with every gesture. Add a gorgeous background and lighting inspired by German Expressionism, and a wonderfully eerie soundtrack, and the short's fabulous. I love it and could watch it over and over again.
